The Emma Newton Fund
A permanent fund created to give opportunities to young people, particularly in the Performing Arts.
After Emma’s tragic death on May 23rd 2011, family and friends felt the need to do something positive. We decided to create a permanent grant-making fund to help remember Emma.
The fund is managed by The Community Foundation serving Tyne & Wear and Northumberland registered charity number 700510. For more information about what the Community Foundation does please visit their website.
Permanent Endowment
The fund is a permanent
endowment. This means the
Community Foundation invest
all money raised and make grants
from the fund’s income. This is so the
fund will grow over time and continue
making grants forever. In fifty years
time young people in the Arts will
still be receiving grants in Emma’s
name - a fitting tribute.
For more information about the grants we have made and how to apply for a grant visit our grants page.
